Honeymoon!

Honeymoon plans are all set!!!!!!!!!

We'll be spending seven lovely nights at the Cozumel Palace in Cozumel, Mexico. Based on flight availability, we're leaving the Wednesday (a few days after the wedding) and returning the following Wednesday (Sept 3-10). We'll be traveling out of Indianapolis and going to lay in the sun (among other things) for a whole week. We got a free trip to swim with the dolphins and a honeymoon upgrade (which includes a whole bunch of great perks). Best part is that its an all inclusive hotel so we'll never need to shell out cash for drinks or any of our meals! :-) Perfect way to relax after all the wedding festivities!

Well that was the last big piece of the puzzle that is our wedding. Everything is booked and pretty much ready to go... (insert sigh of relief right here!) Let the six month countdown begin!

I hope you're all staying warm and out of the snow- spring is almost here! See you soon!

Snow Day!

Well work was closed today, so I got an unexpected three day weekend! (Chesney playing in the snow above) It actually feels like more, because first thing Monday morning I'm heading to Dallas for the majority of the week. It looks like all the snow should be out of here by then, so flying shouldn't be a problem.

This weekend's wedding tasks include the following: get all the bridesmaids fitted for their dresses tomorrow and get the dresses ordered (yes, Nat is coming down tonight, Katie is coming tomorrow, and Daria is already in Champaign!) Then tomorrow or Sunday we need to go sit down with the lady that's doing our cake and officially book her. Make sure to vote on the new survey at the bottom for your favorite kind of cake! Since Katie is in town, we'll probably see our DJ too (since they're related!) and will hopefully get him to save the date for our wedding.

Sunday is superbowl day... hope everybody enjoys some awesome chili, pizza, beer and whatever else people have for the superbowl...

Registry

Ok, I haven't been on here in quite some time, so I kicked Amy off the computer and took over!!! HAHA!!

So, we've been real busy (ok Amy has) with the wedding. She's been real diligent about studying up on all the different kinds of florists, cakes, honeymoon locations, etc. I've been real diligent about ... hmm ... oh yeah, paying the down payments for the florists, photographer, etc. I'm a good catch huh?

Well, this good catch got even better this weekend. I started off by taking her to a chic flic. We went and watched 27 dresses at the theatre. Now don't go spreading this around but it was actually kind of a cute move. Ok, enough of that!

So, today we went fake shopping! That's right, we walked (and walked and walked) around Macy's and Target and shot things with a laser. You get this UPC reader and walk around and choose the items that you will need to start off your marriage. I tried to quickly go to the lingerie department, but was immediately stopped. SHEESH!

But we did pick out some really cool dinnerware (Trojan Red and Illini Blue) and other kitchen stuff. We started off this adventure at 1pm and didn't get home until 7pm. LONG time. My feet are killing me.

So, I guess this is where I tell you all that we are registered at Target and Macy's. I guess you can go online and see all this wonderful stuff. Hope you have as much fun looking at it as I did laser-tagging it.

Now back to your regularly scheduled Amy broadcast...

Happy new year!

I know, I know, it's been forever since I posted on this thing- we weren't really getting many comments, so I haven't been writing much, but I'm willing to give it another shot. If you want me to keep writing in here, start posting some comments! :-)

Well tons of updates to be made on the wedding...
  • The ceremony is going to be at the Vineyard Church in Urbana. Since it's so huge (seats about 1000-1500 people), we're going to have the wedding in a smaller, more intimate room. It's going to be really beautiful!
  • The reception is at the Regent Ballroom in Savoy, just as I posted before. No real updates here, except I hear that it's all booked up through the majority of next year! I'm so happy we got in before everybody else! One of my new co-workers takes ballroom dancing there and says how beautiful it always looks for weddings! They told us that starting in March, they pretty much have a wedding every Saturday and we can stop by and see everything whenever we feel like it. I fully intend to take them up on that to get some ideas on how to set up the reception!
  • I'm going dress shopping next week. I think I have my dress picked out, as I looked at it online and then found it in person and loved it on the hanger. Mom is going to come down and hopefully that will be the end of the dress search! I've also picked out bridesmaid dresses (almost officially) and flower girl dresses are down to two choices. The color is called "merlot" and the lady called it closet to magenta.
  • There will be LOTS of pink flowers, in varying shades. Our florist is very creative and able to work with us in coming up with unique ideas. I just booked the florist today!
I guess that's probably about it for now. Post comments so I know you're checking! :-)

Okay... NOW it's official!!!

Well I just made that post saying the wedding date was official.. and now we've changed it. But only to the day before- Saturday August 30, 2008. Still Labor Day weekend of course. We really wanted to get married at our church and thankfully they were able to get us in on Saturday. So everything is all switched over and now its on to other details like dresses, flowers, and music. Can't wait!

Another piece of news- I've put in resignation at my job at the YMCA and accepted a job with the American Cancer Society. The switch will be official at the end of the month, but in the meantime, I'll be wrapping things up at the Y.

Mike is out of town all week this week, and the apartment is a lot different without him. Just one more week until I get to go back to Indy to pick him up from his long trip away! Thanks for checking our blog, and hope your holiday plans are all going well!

It's official!

So the wedding reception is officially booked! Save the date- August 31!!! Our reception is going to be at a ballroom here in Champaign. It's a great facility and we're really excited to be working out the details with their wedding planner! I've added some pictures of the site so you can see a little bit of it.

I've also added a picture of Chesney, the dog, in our brand NEW apartment! Mike and I moved into our new place this past weekend and it went really well. We were pretty tired at the end of the week but its great to have all of both of our things in the same place. No more moving for awhile now!

Well make sure to check out the new poll down at the bottom of the page. We're still deciding where to do the ceremony, but I'll be sure to post when we have a decision. Have a good rest of the week!
